Don't let's forget that weight has always been the enemy of the heavier than air machine, and so, for example, we won't fabricate Blériot wing ribs in birch ply when the original is in poplar! The restoration of old aircraft is a passion, a confection of wood, linen and castor oil, requiring lengthy research and a great deal of work, but in the eyes of pilots who love these old flying machines, what pleasure and happiness it is to give them a new lease of life in our workshops and then to see them fly again, as so many generations have dreamed of! If you have a question, an idea, a restoration project, or a dream of an aircraft from the First war, don't hesitate to contact us - we will take a look at it with you to see how the dream can be realised. |
